Here are Ryan’s MLB sick pix for April 5th!
The big dart toss of this game has to be DJ LeMahieu 3+ hits at +500; he’s a hitting machine who consistently puts the ball in play, and at those odds, I think I have to toss a little on it. Gleyber Torres kills the Orioles and always has his best games against his division foes, so let’s ride on some Torres props: my choices are home, 2 hits +185, and 3 hits at +1000. This last one is a super juicy prop that for those odds I don’t know if I can resist. Montgomery has gone over 4.5 in three of his last 5 appearances, so lets ride the over and hope he stays on track. Yankees moneyline is probably the safest play, but after a disappointing opening series, I expect the Yanks to wake up and smell blood in the water against a team they should beat big.
Nick Castellanos has been incredible to start the season, with 6 hits in 11 at bats. He also has hit 2 home runs and 5 RBIs in only three games. I like Castellanos to have another big game tonight, coming off a soft ejection last game. 2 hits for Philip Evans and Castellanos are probably my favorite plays here and you could even jump on Evan’s three hits at +1200, as he is the definition of a contact hitter who just sprays the ball around.
Jacob deGrom pitches today; the best pitcher in the league toes the rubber for the first time this season. I love the Mets moneyline, as I think they come out on another level after their opening series was postponed. Lindor ended spring training on fire and has had great success against Matt Moore (8-13 1 home run) in his career, so after getting locked up for ten years at $341 million, I see him going deep tonight and getting on base 2 or 3 times. deGrom over 8.5 strikeouts is probably my favorite play, as he’s a machine. I like a few other Mets to go deep tonight as I feel they are just gonna come out early ripping the cover off the ball. This team is so hungry to play ball, they should come out hot. For RBIs, at positive odds, I like Lindor and Pete both over .5.
Boston just got swept by the Orioles, so the Rays should cruise through this series. Even with Wacha pitching tonight, they should be able to hold their own out there. If there’s a pitcher to lose to Boston, I wouldn’t put it past Wacha after watching him last year for the Mets, but at -110, I love the Rays straight up they should be big time favorites. Austin Meadows hit a few home runs against the Marlins, can he keep his hot streak going? For +330, I’d like to find out. Wacha under 4.5 strikeouts is also a good option, as he could get pulled pretty quick, so tonight will be a good judge for how short or long of a leash he’ll be on when on the mound.
A final tempting play is for the prop double of Rays winning and Wacha 5+ strikeouts at +330. If Watcha ends up going over, that will be enough for them to escape with a win.
