MLB Bet Of The Day, 4-19

Today’s article is going to be a tad bit different than normal.  This time I’m going to be diving a bit further into a single game that I love.  Normally I list off 3-5 picks minimum, but I want to change it up today.  Without proper time to dive deep into all of the games at this time I decided that I’d do research on one game I really like, and share that with you instead. Without further ado, let’s ride. Here’s my MLB bet of the day.

Padres -1.5 +160 vs. Milwaukee

The absolute best thing that could have happened for San Diego was for that series against the Dodgers to end. Early take on this matchup/line is that the Padres are being vastly undervalued in my opinion. Now I’m not sure if it’s recency bias after this recent series loss, but it doesn’t make sense to me.

Pitching matchup is clearly in favor of San Diego. Joe Musgrove is taking the mound against this banged up Brewers lineup that is without past MVP Christian Yelich. Toeing the mound for the Brewers is Brandon Woodruff. He’s no slouch, but he’s not on the level as the pitching the Padres saw all weekend from the Dodgers.

Without Christian Yelich I am extremely bullish on the Brewers ability to put up many runs in this game. I fully understand the Padres being short handed in the bullpen, but I don’t see that being an issue here. This Brewers offense has had games where they were fully healthy and yet struggled to score runs consistently, so are we to expect them to lose their most dangerous bat and yet still be explosive? I’ll definitely give Musgrove the massive edge to keep this offense low scoring today.

The Brewers last three games were all against the underwhelming Pirates team and yet still gave up 6 runs in two of those three games. The Brewers have struggled keeping opposing offenses from scoring and are now going up against an offense that is extremely high powered. Any player in this lineup can take Woodruff yard at any moment, and after seeing the nasty arms on the Dodgers team I see them feasting on Woodruff and the Brewers bullpen.

Take the Padres run line with your MLB bet and sit back while San Diego crush the Brewers. Once again, follow me on Twitter @TCollins1012 for other picks, along with random outbursts against the Cardinals when they inevitably shit to bed and let me down during a game they could win.
