We’ve got another full day of games to pick through for my gambling cheat sheet today. I’m still not completely over that collapse from the Braves that cost me a +946 parlay, but the only option is to keep my head down and find more winners today. I’ll be boycotting betting on the Braves for the next week, though. I don’t want to, but I have to after a game like that…them’s the rules. We have a decent amount of top arms taking the mound today, and you’re going to see a trend in my picks. I’m leaning heavy on the top pitchers in baseball to win for us today.
*San Diego -1.5 (+140) vs San Francisco
Listen I know Tatis being out is a huge loss for this lineup, but let’s get real. This lineup still has studs in this lineup, and Tatis or not, they can score 5+ runs before they step on the diamond. With Blake Snell taking the mound against a Giants lineup that I think he limits I don’t think it takes many runs to hit the -1.5.
*Dodgers -1.5 (-104) vs Oakland
The Dodgers are the epitome of a nightmare for opposing pitchers, with there 6,7,8 guys being just as dangerous as a lot of teams 4,5,6 guys. Jesus Luzardo has some decent stuff, striking out Houston 8 times in his last start, but I don’t see a world where he replicates that here. Even though he had 8 K’s vs Houston he also allowed 5 earned runs, and if he gets sloppy in this game like he did in that one, LA will put up 8 runs in a blink of an eye. With Bauer going for the Dodgers I’ll happily take this free money. Also, take the over 8.5- LA can put up at least 8 alone here so you just need a little help from Oakland to hit the over.
*Minnesota -180 vs Detroit
Kenta Maeda vs Mathew Boyd. What an absolute primetime pitching matchup here fellas…. Sarcasm aside, I think Boyd comes back down to earth a little after his great opening day start, and Maeda is more than capable of giving the Detroit bats trouble. Give me the better pitcher, and better bats.
* Cardinals -124 and -1.5 (+143)
Let’s start by pointing out that I’m a Cardinals fan. Jack Flaherty didn’t have a great start to the season so I see this as a bounce back game for him. If the Cardinals can get their bipolar bats to wake up, they should cover here, but I’m not confident enough to make it a no doubt bet.
* Mets +143
I’m still bullish on the Phillies this year. I hate trusting this Mets bullpen to close out a game, but I think the bats can carry the Mets to the win.
Gambling Cheat Sheet Wrap-Up
